The Camara de Comercio Latina of the United States (CAMACOL), celebrated its 44^th Anniversary with a gala dinner where the new Governing Board was elected for the period of 2009-2011 and awards were given to many of the leading entrepreneurs of the Latin American community.

William Alexander, the President of CAMACOL, briefed the nearly 200 attendees on the activities of the organization during the past year, which included the commencement of construction of "CAMACOL Tower." This exciting new development on West Flagler Street and 14^th Avenue in Little Havana will hold the organization's offices along with 100 units for lower income seniors age 55 and older.  CAMACOL is the co-owner and co-developer of this innovative redevelopment venture with the nationally-renowned, Miami-based Pinnacle Housing Group. Also mentioned during the program was a program with the State of Florida, Florida CAMACOL Films, which is working to promote Miami as a premier location for the international film industry.

During the 44^th Anniversary celebration, awards were handed out to the top entrepreneurs and commercial entities of 2009, including Pinnacle Housing Group as "Developer of the Year." Accepting the award on behalf of Pinnacle was Lauren Levrant, the Project Manager for CAMACOL Tower.
