| Pinnacle Unveils Newest Art in Public Places with “Sunset Mural” at Pinnacle Plaza |

Addonis Parker, internationally renowned Miami muralist and fine artist, recently completed a 50 ft. by 50 ft. mural at Pinnacle's new "Pinnacle Plaza" affordable housing community located at N.W. 36th Street and N.W. 37th Avenue in Miami. The mural, a beautiful composition of a South Florida sunset landscape, is completely hand painted and encompasses the top five floors of the 10 story development.
Pinnacle Plaza opened last year with great market acceptance, typical of Pinnacle's residential communities. This 132 rental complex, affordable to families earning less than sixty percent of area median income, offers a range of one, two and three bedroom units, unprecedented quality and amenities such as a clubhouse, computer center, fitness facility, covered playground and Energy Star appliances. It draws residency from the workforce of the expanding Miami International Airport and enjoys excellent proximity to the Miami Intermodal Center.
Parker's mural depicts a radiant sunset reflecting vibrant colors on to the ocean. Silhouettes of palm trees blowing in the wind border a quiet shoreline with a kayak docked on the edge of the beach. The painting is typical of the artist's "bold realism" style. His understanding of light and use of color sets the mood of the painting as the Miami sun sets in the west. Parker notes "the changing late afternoon light enhances the serenity of the painting. Westbound drivers on N.W. 36th Street will be awestruck as they approach the mural. It is my understanding this is the first hand painted mural of its size in the City of Miami, and I am very fortunate to have been able to use Pinnacle Plaza as the 'canvas' for such an ambitious work."
Parker began painting the mural several months ago, working from a scaffold. "This was my first time on a scaffold, but, I found the experience to be quite rewarding. The weather and scale of the painting required more time than anticipated." While working on the mural, callers in high rise buildings from as far away as downtown Miami commented on how the mural was visible from that distance with binoculars. The mural is also clearly visible from airplanes on approach to the Miami International Airport.
Addonis Parker is noted for his poignant and realistic portrayals of everyday life of youth and adults. He is owner of Art For Ever Miami, Inc. and Art Forever Studio. Mr. Parker is a community activist and works with underserved youth in the Miami area sharing his gift and talent through various art training programs. He is the recipient of numerous awards for his contributions to art and the community.
Pinnacle Housing Group is committed to incorporating Art in Public Places in their housing developments. "Buildings without art and architectural features are simply shapes and forms that are undistinguished from other rectangular concrete structures. We believe that art is an integral part of our communities. Our murals, sculptures and architectural features reflect the thinking and care behind the functional and people-friendly designs of our residential communities," says Louis Wolfson, III, Partner in Pinnacle Housing Group and the driving force behind Pinnacle's Art in Public Places movement. "Drawing on the creative power of well-known and respected local artists and architects, we infuse our communities with an unexpectedly lighter, happier feeling. By doing so, we are creating a sense of place and purpose that is different from anything our residents have experienced," Wolfson says.
Pinnacle Housing Group is the recognized industry leader in providing first-class affordable housing communities in Florida's urban core and suburban areas, inspiring Affordable Housing Finance magazine, one of the industry's top publications, to note Pinnacle Housing Group as "one of Florida's most successful developers in revitalizing Florida's urban communities." Pinnacle's portfolio of rental housing units (completed and under construction) has risen to over 5,000 units and continues to grow from the State's Panhandle to southern Miami-Dade County.
