The South Florida Business Journal reports that Miami-based developer Pinnacle has broken ground on Pinnacle at Tropical Crossings, a $41 million affordable housing community for older adults in southern Miami-Dade County. Designed by Anillo Toledo Lopez Architecture and being built by PC Building, the eight-story development will bring 110 apartments to a nearly one-acre site in Princeton, just off U.S. 1.
The community marks Pinnacle’s second phase in the area, following the 2025 completion of the neighboring 215-unit Pinnacle at Tropical Pointe. Reserved for residents 62 and older, it will offer 39 studios and 71 one-bedroom apartments for seniors earning up to 30% or 60% of the area’s median income.
Financing includes support from Bank of America, Neighborhood Lending Partners and Florida Housing Finance Corp.’s Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program. Planned amenities include a community room, cyber lounge, dog park and fitness center. Completion is expected in fall 2027.
